Musings on the Solstice for Claudine
Section one DE-LIGHT by Robin and Oakling
food that tastes like Roses
sweet and tart and
bitter fruit
tangy, angry and sour
turkish delight
Gulab Jamun
Basta
Bubbling winter's ale
well
told
up through the dark terra
drunk
rosemead
honey smells of flowers inside it
flowers smells of birth fluid inside it
Birth smell opens to interpretation
dreaming inside it
white peaches
icy pink fairy tail flavors
from his imagination
he expects them to turn into frogs
after many tastings
they never do
Section two Land and Stars
after autumn
night measured
to the last edgy
exhaustion
short path
of branches
grasses, snow
dry
simple, fallow
Living
midsummernightsdream
falls to
deepwintersdawnchild
sun at its zenith
on the tropic of capricorn
all points between hara
and crown
experience the shortest day
all points between hara
and the root
experience the longest
the temple dancer stares into the pool
and sees the warrior
they smile at each other mildly concerned
both male and female
the angle of the land to the sun
and the number of hours of the suns warmth
have more to do with inclination
then the eccentricity of distance
we on the surface
can stare off endlessly
and wonder how we
ever parted
when we melt back into spring
Part three a Video Game and more musings
A princess transported
to a morbid castle
solitary
fighting enemies
in traps
manifesting flaws to ingest the refuse
Solstice: / a stopping - standing still of
the sun/
welcome to inner stirrings
first fear then pain then
the unraveling
then flowwaxingwaning
figure 8 Analemma
sundial time varies with clock time
the sky from the same place and time on
earth
shows the sun moving
in the shape of the analemma
perihelion
the earth and sun speed up
spinning in the same direction
the sun appears to be going
slower
like our hearts beating faster in tandem
while stars are fixed to the celestial equator
the sun moves over the course of the year
Caetano (the sun ) says
"I am a fire lion
without you (earth)
i would consume myself"
Due to the
backstitching of equinoxes
the analemma is always
changing
this is hope
in a mobius strip
the morbid castle decomposing
fires at midnight
winter weeds
a summer corpse
covered wth flies
winter springs
and summer
torrents and
us
moving through
it
all
